Keeping a Mast Chip in PlaceBy Kim MillerI've held mast chips on my H14t with double sided carpet layer's tape. This tape is built on a light fabric which contorts to fit the rounded base without wrinkles. I have a stack of pieces, each one inch square, in my sailing kit. A new piece lasts several weeks of use. The tape comes on a roll with a peel-off backing. With extra mast rake (recently modified to extreme rake) the chips are more reluctant to allow even the tape to hold them in place. I am moving to the cast delrin bearing with the locating lug (get them from Hobie). |
